When there are five or six of you, two saloons means two drivers, two fares and the worry of one car arriving late. A 6 seater MPV solves that. Everyone travels together, the luggage goes in one boot and you pay one fixed fare.
When a 6 seater is the right choice
Our 6 seater taxis are people carriers with three rows of seats or a flexible seating layout. They suit:
- Families of five or six heading to Heathrow or Gatwick for a holiday.
- Grandparents, parents and children travelling together to a wedding or celebration.
- Small business teams going to a client site or a conference.
- Friends on a night out in central London or a match at Twickenham.
- Shared school runs where two families split the cost.
Luggage and seating
With six passengers on board, a typical 6 seater MPV carries three or four large suitcases plus hand luggage. With fewer passengers, seats can be folded for more space. If you are travelling with skis, bikes in bags, a wheelchair that folds or a large pram, tell us when you book so we can confirm it fits. If your luggage list is long, our 7 seater taxi or an 8 seater gives a little more room.
Airport trips from Hounslow in a 6 seater
Most of our 6 seater bookings are airport runs. A family holiday from Hounslow to Heathrow Terminal 5 or Gatwick Airport is much easier when everybody and every case leaves the house together. For arrivals, the driver tracks your flight and can meet you in the arrivals hall, so you are not hunting for two separate cars after a long flight.
Typical drive times from Hounslow:
| Destination | Typical time | Usual route |
|---|---|---|
| Heathrow Terminals 2 & 3 | 15–20 min | A4 Bath Road and M4 spur |
| Gatwick North & South | 45–60 min | M25 and M23 |
| Stansted | 70–90 min | M25 and M11 |
| Twickenham Stadium | 15–20 min | A314 and A316 |
Times are estimates and depend on traffic.
Child seats and accessibility
Child seats and booster seats are available on request. Let us know how many you need and the ages of the children. If someone in your group has limited mobility, an MPV's higher seats and sliding doors are often easier than a low saloon. Mention any needs in the booking notes and we will check the vehicle suits you.
Fixed fares for groups
The fare for a 6 seater is fixed when you book, so it does not go up if the M25 is slow. Split between six people, it is often cheaper per person than trains or the Heathrow Express once you add the trip to the station. You can pay by card or cash.
Need a regular group run for school? See our school run taxi in Hounslow page.
Planning a family trip in a 6 seater
Before you book, count heads and bags. Babies and toddlers count as passengers and need a seat, so a family of four adults and two young children needs a 6 seater with two child seats. Note any buggies or travel cots, as these take up boot space.
